Newest updates!

We’re excited to announce the release of another major update to the Factor Tree today! You’ll find the new Factor Tree to be more streamlined, intuitive, and flexible, giving you greater control over how and when you want to incorporate Factor Tree into your child’s studies. Please let us know what you think at support@thefactortree.com!

Account Changes

We’ve streamlined the accounts. For those who found it cumbersome to remember extra log-in information for your children, we heard you! Now instead of having parent and student interfaces with separate usernames and passwords* for each, we’ve combined the accounts into one by introducing parent-only features that can be accessed by entering a 4-digit PIN number. If you’re a pre-existing user, when you log into your account today you will be asked to create a new PIN. Henceforth, you will only need to remember one username and password whether you want to practice math with your child, check on progress, or update billing and account information. When you click on a parent-only portion of the site such as Billing, you will be asked to provide your PIN number, and then the navigation bar will indicate that you are in Parent Mode. Once you select “Start Practicing”, we’ll automatically revert to Student Mode so you’ll never have to worry about your child accidentally modifying your Billing information!

*If you would still like to create a separate username and password for your student to log in directly to Factor Tree, you still have the option to do so either when you set up a new account or when you edit an existing student’s profile.

New Activities

Now when you “Start Practicing!” you’ll have several new options to choose from. You can continue to progress along Factor Tree’s suggested curriculum or choose your own topic to work on. Under “Fun Activities” you can take a speed challenge to boost your fluency or review the questions you got wrong on a previous worksheet to make sure you’ve nailed the material.

Evaluation Test Optional

New students can take our evaluation test to have the Factor Tree place them at a suitable starting point in the curriculum. Not satisfied with the results and would prefer to have your child start on a different topic? Now you can choose the topic you want your child to practice and start the curriculum from there.

End of Test Screen

When students come to the end of a worksheet, they are now greeted with summative information about their performance. You can also click on the Topic Details link to see how your student performed on each topic covered in the worksheet, or the Review Test button to go over the questions they got wrong.
